Regular attendance is essential for giving your child the best possible start in life. When children miss school frequently, they can fall behind in their learning.

 β° What happens if my child is late?

  • Children that are running late should enter through the school's main office to sign in and order their lunch. 
  • For children arriving after 9.00 will be given a late mark, this will affect their attendance. 
  • Lateness is monitored & is reviewed by the office & Head Teacher.

πŸ“ž Reporting Absence

  • Please notify the school on each morning of absence by calling 0115 9156300.
  • No explanation or unsatisfactory reason will lead to an unauthorised absence.

βœ… Reasons for Absence

  • Illness (medical evidence may be required).
  • Emergency medical/dental appointments (routine ones must be booked outside school hours)
  • Exceptional family circumstances – These absences will be passed onto the Head Teacher for approval.
  • Unauthorised holidays may result in a penalty notice being issued. 
  • Attendance is closely monitored by the attendance team.

πŸšͺ Late collection

  • School ends at 3.15pm, if you are running late please call (0115 9156300).
  • Running more than 10 minutes late, your child may be put into The Lime Trees after-school club (charges may apply).
  • Regular lateness will be monitored.

  • Make your morning stress-free: prepare clothes, bags & lunches the night before to help avoid lateness (encourage your child to help too)
  • Create a routine with your child
  • Talk positively about school & encourage your child to talk about school & what they have been learning about.
